Yes, that's what I figured too. At the time, I assumed the cause of the fire must have been someone smoking in this bed. I later read that investigators had determined the fire was due to arson. Still it does look like the arsonist started the fire on this bed.

Looking at this picture, I think you may have found the ignition point of the fire. The mattress has nearly completely furned away, but somebody tossed a blanket on the bed after the fire was out. I bet any pillows that may have been on this bed were completely consumed by the fire.
